Broward Health North Starts $70M Renovation and Expansion

Broward Health North broke ground on a $70 million expansion and renovation project, and Cold Stone was there to help them celebrate!

As a part of the public health system for northern Broward County, Broward Health North hospital plans to add a 35,000 sq ft. emergency department complete with three trauma bays, plus six operating rooms which total more than 15,000 sq ft. Broward Health North also plans to improve the building’s facade and build a central energy plant in order to increase efficiency.

“The upgrades and renovations to Broward Health North will add value to the patient experience, and help us to continue providing them with the best quality of care for years to come,” said BHN CEO Pauline Grant in a news release. “The additional operating rooms will increase efficiency when scheduling surgeries, and the in-house pharmacy gives patients the convenience of one less stop to make on the way home from the hospital.”

Exterior improvements and the central energy plan are scheduled to be completed by summer of 2015 and the operating suites should be ready in Winter of 2015, with the expanded emergency department to follow during the summer of 2016.

We are so excited to follow the renovation and expansion of Broward Health North and look forward to seeing the final result.  Cold Stone had an amazing time celebrating the start of the project with them and hope to be there to help them celebrate its completion.
